Summertime Thoughts

Hello all,

It's been quite the busy summer for the Crunchy Granola Nut and the frequency of posts hasn't quite been on point lately. That will be changed shortly.

But first, let's all remember, summer is a time for enjoyment. There's no need to spend hours on the computer/phone/tv and all those other technological devices. Enjoy the outdoors while it's sunny and warm outside. If it's a rainy day, enjoy all those little things that we often forget that we have. For me, I love picking up a book. A physical book that I actually have to move my hand to flip the pages. I'm honestly not trying to bash kindles and nook books and whatever else is out there nowadays but I love my good old-fashioned ways. It gives you a chance to enjoy something relaxing like reading while avoiding the need to stare at a screen all the time. Board games are another wonderful idea.

Summer and this kind weather only lasts for so long, so why would you waste it? I've spent my summer in paradise. Whether it was my week in the Bahamas or just sitting outside in my yard, it was paradise. Go to the beach, a hike, a picnic, a kayak ride, an adventure. Make your summer worthwhile and something to talk about with interest. Find the need to have some old-fashioned fun. Find local events to go to where you live. There's often much more in the summer than in the colder months, not to mention, you often have more time to be able to go to them. For starters, I went to my first swing dancing class yesterday with a friend. The both of us had a blast. Technology was put aside and we were able to have a swinging time. (Pun intended). Festivals are another popular thing during the summer.

So next time you decide to curl up on the couch on a beautiful day like today, think differently and get your butt moving. Go out and make your own summer adventure.

Tip #1
Don't wait until it's over to do something about it.
