For Happiness

Changes are as predictable as they are unpredictable. We never exactly know what something will change into. We don't know if something will change into something completely different, or it may only evolve into something slightly different. What we do know, changes are bound to happen no matter what. It's a way of life.

Recently, I've gone through quite a few changes, with most of them being big changes. Some I expected in some way in some form, others I subconsciously expected. Some were automatically deemed as good while others were first deemed as a hardship. But, that all depends on how you look at them. Life is full of obstacles, why let one change stop you?

Change makes room for opportunities. Yes, some opportunities we are lucky enough to be given more than once. More often than not, they're not. We have to take them as they come to us. Life is about risk. That first step was a risk, wasn't it? It's interesting how willing infants and toddlers are to take risks while adults are so stubborn not to. Is this where we let anxiety get to us? Our minds making up scenarios upon scenarios in our heads as to how a situation could go wrong? Do we forget about all the things that can go right? Usually, there will be more right than wrong. We just have grown blind to it.

We let the idea of anxiousness get to us and then let fear take over. What kind of life is that? Let me put it clearly, there's no risks in that kind of life. As one of my favorite fortune cookies has said, "Fear is just excitement in need of an attitude adjustment." It should be clear to us that infants don't need that attitude adjustment. It's all us grown adults that do.

Look at it this way, by taking risks, infants are constantly learning and letting their minds grow. In the end, taking risks in life is the same as taking a risk on that pb & j sandwich of yours. Maybe it's time to try strawberry jelly instead of grape jelly, or vice versa. Mistakes are bound to happen, but that's how we learn. That's how we grow and develop our personality and even our own well-being.

Each of us is given strictly one life. Why waste it away? For all of you that say you need to live life to its fullest, risks are involved. Make the best out of it. Find that comfort zone and cross it. Embrace the changes that are out of your control, and even the ones that are within your grasp. Live the way life should be lived.

To New Beginnings

"May every sunrise hold more promise and every sunset hold more peace"

As summer has come to a close, a new journey begins. This is the time you have for reflections. Was your summer satisfying? Did you accomplish anything? Did you reach any goals? Did you travel somewhere new and learn about a new culture? Did you make a life-change? Did you have that adventure you've been waiting to have? Or did you simply finally have the time to relax? Well, time's up and now it's to see if you filled your summer with worthwhile things. Despite the reflections, it's no time to dwell on what could have been. It's only a time to realize what you could have done differently or what you'd still like to do.

Fill up your mind with new goals and wishes and let them be unleashed during this fast-coming fall. Some of us may have school and others going back to work, but don't let that stop you from the good habits you formed over the warm season. Embrace what is new and let go of the old just like the surrounding trees and the rest of Mother Nature are soon starting to do.

This fall is a start of a new "year." Look at it and treat it as such. Let it hold promises that will become reality. Let it hold peace that will give you a new perspective.

For me, this fall means a new home, a new daily routine, new work, and new people. These are no obstacles but mere bumps in the path I desire to take. I will not let it phase me and neither should you. Always, without a doubt, take the opportunities that luckily have come your way.

Push on and never be the one to get in your own way.

P.S. I know posts have been lacking for quite some time but I overly enjoyed my vacation away from technology and even some parts of society. But, I'm back with many, many ideas stuck in this head of mine. Enjoy what's to come!

Vacation Time

Hello all,

This is my gorgeous paradise for the next two weeks. This time the Crunchy Granola Nut will not be distracted and forgetful of posting but will find a reason not to post. How often can I go to somewhere secluded from most, not all of civilization and enjoy some true nature time? Certainly not often and even though this little cottage now has WiFi, I sincerely wish to limit my use of it.

For the time being, make your own paradise of what you have left of the summer. Spend it wisely and enjoy every last waking moment. Don't let it drift by you.

After this, posts will be much more frequent with many lovely photos I will have taken on my favorite vacation I'm lucky enough to go on for the past fifteen years.

Treat yourself to all the summertime fun you can think of.
