To New Beginnings

"May every sunrise hold more promise and every sunset hold more peace"

As summer has come to a close, a new journey begins. This is the time you have for reflections. Was your summer satisfying? Did you accomplish anything? Did you reach any goals? Did you travel somewhere new and learn about a new culture? Did you make a life-change? Did you have that adventure you've been waiting to have? Or did you simply finally have the time to relax? Well, time's up and now it's to see if you filled your summer with worthwhile things. Despite the reflections, it's no time to dwell on what could have been. It's only a time to realize what you could have done differently or what you'd still like to do.

Fill up your mind with new goals and wishes and let them be unleashed during this fast-coming fall. Some of us may have school and others going back to work, but don't let that stop you from the good habits you formed over the warm season. Embrace what is new and let go of the old just like the surrounding trees and the rest of Mother Nature are soon starting to do.

This fall is a start of a new "year." Look at it and treat it as such. Let it hold promises that will become reality. Let it hold peace that will give you a new perspective.

For me, this fall means a new home, a new daily routine, new work, and new people. These are no obstacles but mere bumps in the path I desire to take. I will not let it phase me and neither should you. Always, without a doubt, take the opportunities that luckily have come your way.

Push on and never be the one to get in your own way.

P.S. I know posts have been lacking for quite some time but I overly enjoyed my vacation away from technology and even some parts of society. But, I'm back with many, many ideas stuck in this head of mine. Enjoy what's to come!

Vacation Time

Hello all,

This is my gorgeous paradise for the next two weeks. This time the Crunchy Granola Nut will not be distracted and forgetful of posting but will find a reason not to post. How often can I go to somewhere secluded from most, not all of civilization and enjoy some true nature time? Certainly not often and even though this little cottage now has WiFi, I sincerely wish to limit my use of it.

For the time being, make your own paradise of what you have left of the summer. Spend it wisely and enjoy every last waking moment. Don't let it drift by you.

After this, posts will be much more frequent with many lovely photos I will have taken on my favorite vacation I'm lucky enough to go on for the past fifteen years.

Treat yourself to all the summertime fun you can think of.

Summertime Thoughts

Hello all,

It's been quite the busy summer for the Crunchy Granola Nut and the frequency of posts hasn't quite been on point lately. That will be changed shortly.

But first, let's all remember, summer is a time for enjoyment. There's no need to spend hours on the computer/phone/tv and all those other technological devices. Enjoy the outdoors while it's sunny and warm outside. If it's a rainy day, enjoy all those little things that we often forget that we have. For me, I love picking up a book. A physical book that I actually have to move my hand to flip the pages. I'm honestly not trying to bash kindles and nook books and whatever else is out there nowadays but I love my good old-fashioned ways. It gives you a chance to enjoy something relaxing like reading while avoiding the need to stare at a screen all the time. Board games are another wonderful idea.

Summer and this kind weather only lasts for so long, so why would you waste it? I've spent my summer in paradise. Whether it was my week in the Bahamas or just sitting outside in my yard, it was paradise. Go to the beach, a hike, a picnic, a kayak ride, an adventure. Make your summer worthwhile and something to talk about with interest. Find the need to have some old-fashioned fun. Find local events to go to where you live. There's often much more in the summer than in the colder months, not to mention, you often have more time to be able to go to them. For starters, I went to my first swing dancing class yesterday with a friend. The both of us had a blast. Technology was put aside and we were able to have a swinging time. (Pun intended). Festivals are another popular thing during the summer.

So next time you decide to curl up on the couch on a beautiful day like today, think differently and get your butt moving. Go out and make your own summer adventure.

Tip #1
Don't wait until it's over to do something about it.
