Everyone hears people say, "Worry about yourself; don't worry about others." But how often do you truly take that statement into consideration? Try it once and you'll be amazed at the change in your perspective. With a focus on yourself, you have the opportunity to make those little changes about yourself that you've always wanted to. All your energy can be put into working on yourself versus trying to fix other people for what you believe to be the better. You'll find yourself to be much happier and even reduce some stress that you put on yourself when you no longer have to compare yourself to others.
As a side note, I'm starting to see some grass along the edges of my yard and it's making me psyched. Yeah it may be a little dreary looking and brown, but it lets me know that spring is on the way. It also makes me excited for myself, my own yard, and the plan I have for when it's warm enough to plant, all while not having to worry about the grass of my neighbor or anyone else. Their grass may still be covered with snow but underneath it may look better than mine. But who knows and who cares? I sure don't and do you want to know why? Because I'm too busy focusing on my own grass to notice.
